Callaway Mens Steelhead XR Pro Irons
The Callaway XR Steelhead Pro Irons Callaway’s highly successful Steelhead XR irons brought back the company’s classic and popular X-14 head shape from the year 2000, with an infusion of technology, of course. Anyone who’s familiar with X-series irons from Callaway through the years knows that they were often accompanied by a “Pro” version. That being the case, it’s no surprise that Callaway has now released the Steelhead XR Pro irons. The XR Pro has a smaller overall profile when compared to their stablemates, as well as less offset and thinner toplines, all of which will appeal to the better player. But this is still an iron that delivers exceptional distance, launch, and forgiveness. Fueling the distance that the Steelhead XR Pro irons produce is Callaway’s next-generation 360 Face Cup Technology, which creates faster ball speeds from impact points across the clubface. Also of note, a steel-infused layer of polyurethane that’s positioned behind the face also helps create faster ball speeds, as well as higher launch conditions. Additionally, it absorbs vibration to improve feel. Steelhead XR Pro irons also feature a progressive CG placement that produces optimal performance through the set, and the hollow bore-through hosel design allows weight to be repositioned to increase MOI. The other noticeable difference between the XR and the XR Pro is the finish, as the XR Pro features a sleek, black PVD finish. The stock shaft for the Steelhead XR Pro irons is the True Temper XP 105.
